Revolutionary Technology

We are constantly searching for the least invasive, the most natural, and the most effective way to help our patients recover from their injuries and return to the activities they love.  Once in a rare while there comes along a medical tool that is so revolutionary it changes the way we practice medicine.  At Osteopathic Wellness Medicine, we have four such tools:

  1. Ultrasound Imaging and Guidance
Dr Kaplan was one of the first specialists to introduce the use of ultrasound for care of patients in Western New York. Ultrasound allows direct visualization of the injured body part in motion during testing and for guidance during a procedure. This opened a window into how injured tendons, muscle, joints and nerves behave during motion, completely changing our ability to diagnose and treat these injuries.
  2. TENEX Tenotomy
This special needle tool has a vibrating tip that emits ultrasound waves that blast unwanted calcium deposits and scar tissue from chronically injured tendons. The procedure takes three minutes to perform and does what an old fashioned open surgical tenotomy does with a 50% higher success rate, in a fraction of time, and with minimal recovery time.
  3. Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)
PRP is an incredible tool that is used for healing of chronically injured tendons and ligaments. PRP is isolated from the patient’s own blood with help of a special centrifuge and collecting container. It can be injected into the ligaments of spine and joints. Osteopathic Wellness Medicine uses a PRP centrifuge that can extract the PRP portion of the blood in only three minutes as compared to 20 minutes needed for most other machines, and with a 3 fold higher PRP concentration. This means less wait time during the procedure and better results.
  4. SpineForce
This remarkable machine was created to strengthen spine and limb muscles in an upright position. It increases coordination, returns power and symmetry to muscle groups, rehabilitates deep spinal muscles that protect the spine from pain, and aids in total body injury prevention.
